LLC Onishi Lacquer Art Restoration Studio

Established his own conservation studio.

Having worked on designated cultural properties of lacquerware, including national treasures, mainly in the Kyushu and Okinawa areas. ⇒ Client list

In 2015, became a part-time lecturer at Tohoku University of Art and Design.

 

2000 — 2014

A conservation-restoration studio of urushi cultural properties

Began his career as a conservator, specialising in usuhi objects.

In 2001, acquired the skills of tapping urushi by attending the training course of the Japanese Urushi Tapping Preservation Society (the group holding Selected Conservation Techniques, certified by the government).

In 2005, completed the course in restoration of cultural properties (specialise in works of art) offered by the Agency for Cultural Affaires. *Only those who completed this course can conserve the artworks designated by the government.

In 2010, appointed as a manager (chief conservator) of the Kyushu branch established in the Kyushu National Museum
